About

Black and white photo of a man wearing a cap, looking through a narrow gap or opening.

Jack Krull here! I started Isle of Film Photography to create photos that feel like yesterday. My goal is to capture nostalgic, timeless moments from some of the sweetest days life offers us. Working with me feels laid back and conversational. I believe in laughing a lot and providing a healthy mix of directive cues to bring photos to life with genuine reactions and natural movement.

A young couple riding a red scooter outdoors, smiling, with trees and power lines in the background.
A bride in a white lace wedding dress being carried by groom in a tan suit on the beach, holding a bouquet of white flowers, with ocean and small boat in the background.

More about me:

I'm a photographer based in Santa Barbara, California and have been tinkering with cameras since the 6th grade. You can often find me grabbing coffee at Handlebar, slowly biking up Gibraltar, or zipping by on my red Vespa with my wife Carley.

I'm also a big scifi and fantasy enthusiast. Recent reads include the Red Rising, The Wheel of Time, Dune, The Lord of the Rings and anything and everything Brandon Sanderson.

Other random hobbies I take pride in:

  • Roasting and making coffee at home

  • Cast iron skillet restorations

  • Amateur leather-working

  • Making pizza
